Peggy Jo spent most of her young life in California, lived in Montana for many years and
moved to washington in 1977 with her 3 daughters.
She has lived in Ocean Shores for the past 14 years.
Art has been an important part of her entire life.
Her Mother was a respected artist in California and
she was surrounded by these influences as a young
child. She also was exposed to horses through her
father’s love of them, riding and competing way into
her adult life.
After raising her children and giving up her riding
career, Peggy Jo began painting seriously about 15
years ago; pastels are her medium of choice these days.
The connection she feels for her chosen subjects is evident by the expressions of movement
and moods. Once caught up in a painting, she can loose all sense of time. She loves
walking the beaches she paints, feels the presence of people in their environment and has an
almost mystical sense of the horses and animals she loves.
Her paintings have been viewed frequently at numerous art exhibitions and fine art shows
and can be found in many private collections. She works out of her Morning Mist Studio in
ocean shores which is open by appointment.
